Vienna, Austria October 20, 2010

Vienna was to he the highlight of this trip and it is a beautiful city, but it would be so much more beautiful if it wasn't raining and if the sun would shine.  As you can see by the pictures, the sun did come out later in the afternoon.

We were bused into the city, seeing the landmark, the huge Ferris wheel where the movie, "The Third Man" was filmed.  We rode around Ring Road seeing magnificent architecture in the homes, government buildings, theatres, museums, the Spanish Riding School, and Imperial Residence.  On our walking tour we happened to go past the riding school as they were moving horses from the arena to the stables.  What beautiful horses!

After our tour we found a pastry and coffee shop and sampled some of the delectable pastries.

In the evening we attended a concert given by a 13-piece orchestra plus both ballet and opera.  The palace was beautiful and it was just a delight to listen and watch a concert such as this in Vienna!
